Jose A. Llerena

Jose A. Llerena is of counsel at the George Hartz Lundeen Coral Gables Office. Jose Antonio Llerena, P.A. represents employers and employees in labor/employment matters, including wage & hour, contract disputes, allegations of wrongful termination and discrimination cases. The firm focuses on counseling clients in regard to compliance with the Fair Labor Standards Act, Family Medical Leave Act, Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act of 1967, Pregnancy Discrimination Act, Title I and Title III of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, and state workers compensation issues.

Jose Llerena is also engaged in general civil litigation in the context of construction law litigation as well as commercial litigation including contract disputes (breach of contract and collections), business torts, shareholder disputes, and unfair competition (trade secrets and non-competition agreements). Mr. Llerena also counsels clients with respect to landlord/tenant commercial relationships (including lease writing and reviewing) as well as general transactional services such as contract writing, reviewing and negotiating as well as business entity formation/maintenance.

Prior to forming his own firm, Mr. Llerena served as associate general counsel at MasTec, Inc. and Norwegian Cruise Lines Ltd. where he performed transactional and compliance work. He also served as an associate at George Hartz Lundeen, Mase & Lara, P.A., and Jorge L. Fors, P.A., where he engaged in civil litigation. He is a member in good standing of the Florida Bar and the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida. He earned his Juris Doctor degree from St. Thomas University School of Law in 1994.
